Mava Cake
 Ingredients:
  • 100 gm Maida (all purpose flour)
  • 1t.spn. Baking powder
  • 1/2 t.spn. Soda-bi-carbonate
  • 3 tb.spn. Margarine or White butter ( not salty butter)
  • 61/2 tb.spn. Milkmaid (approx. 175 gm)
  • 50 gm Mava (khoya)
  • 50 gm Cashew nuts
  • Cardamom powder/Saffron - as per taste
  • 60 – 70 ml milk
  • 5 - tb.spn Powdered sugar
Method:
  • Sieve maida, baking powder & soda twice.
  • Lightly grease the baking tin with butter & dust it with maida flour.
  • Preheat the oven or cooker for 10 min.
  • Beat margarine & sugar.
  • Add milkmaid & beat for 3-4 min.
  • Add maida mixer and milk alternately.
  • Add saffron, dry fruits, cardamom & grated mava.
  • Mix properly & beat atleast for 3-4 min.
  • Pour the mixer in baking tin & bake it.
  • For baking in cooker, remove the whistle & ring, put some black sand in cooker & keep the tin on it at medium flame.
  • To check, see at the whistle nozzle of the cooker.
  • When sponge is ready, you will see some white smoke that indicates it is baked.
  • It will take about 35 – 40 min.
  • When done, cool & tap gently to remove cake on siever or any wire rack.
  • Your cake is ready to eat. [You can add any flavour if you like].
