Bauxite

It is a metallic mineral.A large size aluminium plant could be established in the region for making use of Bauxite. This will create more employment and improve social-economic status of the people.

• Features- It contains 50% Aluminum oxide.

• Location: Mandvi & Abdassa taluka(Naredi).

• Use: for many catalytic application and for producing several aluminous chemicals like aluminum sulphate,alum and alumina. 

• Controlled by: Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC).

•  The state goverment want set up a large Alumina plant in Kutch with Foreign Collaboration.

• Production:- In 1995-96 around 33000mt.
